HISTORIC ZANDVOORT TROPHY (NATIONAAL OLDTIMER FESTIVAL)

MY EXPERIENCE PHOTOGRAPHING HISTORIC ZANDVOORT TROPHY

This event was such a fun one to attend. I joined with my Volkswagen Beetle (the blue one in the pictures) together with a Golf and two Citroëns. Lots of cool cars on display at this event. Talked with quite some nice people and over all the vibe was very good.

The day started around 6.45 for me. I had to leave home around 7.45 because the event was already starting at 9.00. Naturally, I overslept and left the house around 8.15. I took the highway to Zandvoort (which I usually don’t like, as the Beetle isn’t the fastest car and driving on the highway feels like the engine will explode any second). But everything went alright, except the fact that my windshield wipers stopped working on the highway – less nice.

I met up with my friends at a parking lot outside the Circuit and we went in. The road was under construction which was a little difficult with a low Beetle, but we managed. We were positioned in a nice spot, though the tunnel and almost directly left. I joined a friend in his Golf Cabrio on the Circuit and we had a nice time. Then we all walked around, I took some photos and we had lots of nice talks with people.

Unfortunately, near the end it started to rain heavily. I saw cars with no roof leave, but luckily we all did have one. We had some food at a McDonald’s nearby and I went home. Overall a very fun day and I created probably my favorite photoseries of a car event to date! Have you spotted your car yet?
